Today started out as a write off but turned out to be pretty successful over all. I got a haircut, which always helps to make me feel better about myself, an I got some things done that I’ve been meaning to do. And now I am with Ashley and we are going to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey, because neither of us have seen it.
Which got me thinking about other classic movies that I have somehow missed. I figured if I have a list somewhere, I will never be at a loss when I feel like watching a movie but don’t know what to watch.
The Godfather (Series)
I used to think I didn’t really want to see them, and then one day I realized I’d never seen them and really was missing out. I just need to find the right person to watch with.
Star Wars (Original Trilogy)
Okay, hear me out. I’ve seen them all, technically, but it was a really long time ago and I don’t really remember them. So I am working on it again. Ashley is working me through the trilogy. I’ve watched A New Hope so far. Don’t kill me, fellow nerds.
Pulp Fiction
I tend to avoid Tarantino films, because they scare me I’m not a big fan of violence, but I feel like this the one exception I should make.
It’s A Wonderful Life
My family loves Christmas movies, so it’s surprising that I’ve never seen this. Every year I put it on a list of things to do at Christmas, and every year I miss it.
The Graduate
I’m a huge fan of Watsky’s remix of the Simon and Garfunkel song, so probably I should see this movie at some point.
Goodwill Hunting
I don’t really know what the big deal about this movie is, but maybe when I watch it I will understand.
Roman Holiday
I’ve seen quite a few Audrey Hepburn movies, and I’ve loved them, but for some reason I’ve never seen Roman Holiday, and I really want to.
Rear Window
I’ve seen two Hitchcock movies in my life, one was Shadow of a Doubt for a film study class, and the other was Psycho. I really want to just have a night where I watch all the Hitchcock movies I’ve never seen, including Vertigo, and The Birds, and The Lodger.
There are definitely more, but I this list could go on forever. Add some to my list if you can think of them!
Now who is the bad nerd? I shake my head at you! We should watch them, star wars, together toooooooooooo!!! I haven’t seen them for a couple years. Also, didn’t like Pulp Ficton, want to see The Graduate, Good Will Hunting and Roman Holiday are great! Oh, and Shelly and I laughed through the entire movie the time that we watched The Birds.
I have about 80 movies on my Watchlist on IMDb, including The Godfather, The Graduate and Roman Holiday. Part of the appeal (to me)of Good Will Hunting is the fact that Matt and Ben were so young when they wrote the script and they won an Oscar for it.
this…. this is disturbing…. I have had a conversation with Ash about this before…. it blows my mind that there are people out there that have not seen some of the greatest movies ever made!!!
I made her a list… maybe I need to make you one too…
It’s not my fault! I can’t watch all of the movies there is not enough time!
(Except I’m actually pretty ashamed about the star wars thing)
As you should be……
Good Will Hunting… I used to think the same thing. Then I watched it. Watch it.
