Sometimes over the course of a conversation, someone will mention to me that they are “not a board game person”, and I am constantly puzzled by this statement. I never understood people who don’t like video games or think they’re lame or don’t want to admit to liking them. Because you guys, board games are freaking awesome and also way fun.
It’s not even really just the board game. It’s the concept of getting people around a table for an hour or two and the inevitable interaction that follows. It’s the funny accents that come out, the conversations about random nonsense, and the sense of camaraderie that comes from ganging up against a particularly tough opponent, who also happens to be one of your friends (or family).
There’s a kind of stigma that comes with board games about them being childish or something, but board games are even more fun as adults. Get a few beverages in there and it’s an automatic party. Plus board games are becoming way more interesting, it’s not just roll your dice move your mice anymore.
Give board games a shot. They are a ton of fun. I promise.
